PARLOPHONE
The PARLOPHONE record label is one of the oldest labels in existence – the parent label be founded in Germany in 1896. The UK arm, which added an “E” to the German “PARLOPHON” name quickly became a well re-knowned label for Jazz.
Like contempories, ATLANTIC and DECCA, the PARLOPHONE record label sold millions of albums across many genres of music.
George Martin was one the most famous names aligned to the running of the label and brought in the Beatles as their main act. Beatles albums on PARLOPHONE were issued and reissued many times and books are written about the variations out there.
