Announcing very limited Peter Scion release to celebrate our new shop

Psychotron Records label releases 16 limited edition copies of Peter Scion on vinyl.

We are pleased to be launching a new record, from another great Scandanavian musician. This very limited Peter Scion release is a work of passion, released to coincide with another passion, as Pete at last, realises a dream of owning a record shop. More about the shop later.

This is no normal record, but a ‘lathe cut’. These are literally handmade – one by one on a lathe using vinyl blanks. This is not a method for mass produced records. We have only 16 of these unique and exclusive records available.

Peter Scion is a talented songwriter in the psychedelic folk tradition. We met him many years ago and visited him in Gothenburg where he gave us copies of handmade CDs of the music he had produced. The excellent music was all written by him and mostly performed by him with some help form other artists, many of whom have featured on the collectible XOTIC MIND Swedish psych label. The music has flute and sitar with lashings of fuzz guitar. They are all very lo-fi recordings which seems to suit our project well.

His original CDs are impossible to find now but information about his music is available on his website. We really wanted the music on vinyl and have been trying to get hold of Peter to arrange this but he vanished a few years ago. If anyone reading this knows where he is then please ask him to get in touch – there is, of course, a copy of the LP saved for him!  After failing to find him we have taken 30 minutes worth of our favourite tracks and cleaned them up to be lathe cut onto 16 pieces of vinyl.

The sleeves are each unique, lovingly created from handmade paper.
