Happy 1st Birthday Shop!

Gordon Giltrap helps us to celebrate with an impromptu concert

The Psychotron shop has almost been open for one full year – and what a great year it has been. Pete is a very happy shopkeeper, attracting people from all over the country to Sutton Coldfield Market Village. He loves to chat about music with his regulars and introduce newcomers to music they haven’t heard before. Many visitors are remembering music that heard years ago and it brings many smiles to many faces.  There have been days of dancing and days of reminiscing.

Gordon Giltrap & Paul Ward – ‘The Last of England’ LP launch

To celebrate we are launching another album – PR1006: Gordon Giltrap and Paul Ward ‘Last of England’ on lovely orange vinyl with a gorgeous sleeve. To help along the celebrations Gordon visited the shop with his guitar and played a few tracks:

Along with the launch we are hosting our first concert at the Lichfield Guildhall with the wonderful Gordon Giltrap. Tuesday 18th July. Buy tickets from Eventbrite website:

With Gordon was the lovely singer Carrie Martin who borrowed Gordon’s guitar and also played us a track – what a great day.

If you haven’t visited us yet then please come. We are easy to find from Sutton High Street as we have put up a nice big sign “RECORDS”. Psychotron Records is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 – 4 and on Saturdays from 10 – 4.  Pete still sells online – mainly through this website and sometimes on DiscOgs but we love to meet our customers so the stock always goes to the shop first. He sorts a new in box out for each Wednesday morning and the stock is regularly rotated and changed. He is, of course, constantly looking for records and travels all over to buy collections (hence being shut on Monday and Tuesday!).
